A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

RECORDECA [rek-er-dek-uh] is a revolutionary spin on the rhythm game formula!

Listen to the original soundtrack on Bandcamp!

DeCa, the star of the show! Each song is served to you on a record, where you'll have to hit the notes as they come around to you. However, you'll have to watch for where these old discs get a bit choppy - a loop point will have you repeat the notes in a section!
Sound complicated? Don't worry, as DeCa will show you the ropes! You've got three discs to clear, but there's no pressure if you end up missing a few (or a lot...)

Features:
- Spinning rhythm inputs with up to 4-key gameplay!
- An entirely original, six-song soundtrack!
- Three levels with unique music and visuals!
- A built-in tutorial to get you into the spin of things!
- A lovely little robot buddy and music-sampling machine!

I couldn't make the game full screen - it shows up in a 1080p window but with window decorations and the taskbar, so it's cut off at the edges. Alt+Enter didn't do anything

Yeah, so sorry about that! We were afraid of non 16:9 ratios when we couldn't test them and inadvertently locked the resolution completely. We plan on handling that properly in a patch now that the jam is over.

My poor taiko player hands can't handle the last 2 levels but this game is really fun.

very cute ! i love this concept, and the execution is exactly what you would want from a record-spinning rhythm game! the loop segments were definitely a stand out in my eyes. it caught me off guard in the tutorial, but i thought they were a fantastic idea! they tripped me up a lot, lol :] deca is a perfect little duder

overall this is a fantastic jam game! i really do think this concept has a lot going for it. im not sure if youre planning on continuing development on this idea, and ignore me if you arent.

but if you are...

- the accuracy detection overall is nice, but it would be very helpful to know my accuracy on each note. it doesnt need to be specific, but any form of feedback that lets me know where i fell on the beat would be nice.

- the notes being vertical while spinning is necessary for this concept of course, and you perfected the feel.. but it would be nice to have some kind of differentiation between notes. its a little hard to visualize sometimes while they spin...

thank you so much, glad you liked it!! I and my teammates totally agree with the feedback lol, and we’re (tentatively) planning to come back and update the game once the jam is over, starting with that kind of player clarity & accessibility stuff. Your feedback has been noted 🫡

Banger. I wish I didn't suck so bad with DFJK so I could fully experience this. Everyone else should, though!
